Lola was an avid animal lover and always had one or two dachshunds in her home. She loved spending time at the family farm. She enjoyed being with her niece and nephews and they treasured her time spent with them. When her parent’s health declined, Lola helped care for them.

Lola moved to the Gardens Retirement Community in 2008 and then to Long Term in 2010.

Lola is survived by her sister, Avis Peninger and sister-in-law, Marion Hocke, both of Jefferson and a niece and nephews. Those who preceded her were her parents, brother, John Hocke and sisters, Lois Wright and Vera Hocke.

A celebration of Lola’s life was held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Brown Funeral Home in Jefferson with Pastor Julie Poulsen of the Jefferson First United Methodist Church officiating.
