Posted September 27, 2013 in Beaverdale, Des Moines West, Downtown, Community Web Exclusives, West Des Moines, Windsor Heights

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) anticipates significant disruptions to bus service on Sunday, September 29, due to a pair of events that day. Transit riders are advised to plan their travel accordingly.

· The Capital Pursuits Race through downtown Des Moines will cause delays on all routes from 7:45 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Connections between routes cannot be guaranteed during this time.

· The Des Moines Open Streets event will cause Routes 3 and 60 to be on detour from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., due to the closure of University Avenue from 23rd Street to 41st Street. Buses will be detoured on Cottage Grove Avenue and Kingman Boulevard. Delays are expected; connections to other routes cannot be guaranteed during this time.
