He was born Nov. 16, 1955 in Centerville the son of Merle & Tereasa (Thomas) Bailey. He attended Moulton school until his senior year where he graduated from Centerville High School. Two years later he graduated from IHCC with a degree in Retail Management. Soon afterward he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri for another two years. After returning home he became employed by Union Carbide (Curwood) & would work there for nearly 35 years.
On April 14, 1979 he married the love of his life, Janie Long. They would be blessed with 5 wonderful sons. Tim was gifted with a beautiful singing voice which he used many times for the Lord at church & multiple weddings & funerals. He was an avid fisherman, gun collector, coin collector, & enjoyed riding & working with horses, reading westerns & ancient history, kayaking, playing guitar & harmonica, frequenting auctions, hunting turkey & deer & loved salvaging what many would consider worthless. He was a member & deacon of Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church for many years, & a member of the NRA. He was proud of his 5 sons & loved his family dearly.
Tim was known mostly for his contagious smile, vibrant personality & his gift for telling jokes & teasing people. He never knew a stranger & wherever there was laughter, Tim was there! He will be greatly missed by his family, church family, many coworkers & a community who loved his outgoing personality & big smile. He was courageous throughout his illness & never complained. One of Tim’s favorite comments to his family was “It will be alright.” Immediately before departing, he miraculously became coherent and his family told him, “We will be alright Tim…wait for us, we will see you soon.”
