Ann Jenkins, age 85, of Glidden passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Carroll First Assembly of God Church with Pastor David Schaal officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Kelly Kramer, Jeremy Kramer, Nicholas Schultes, and Allen Willenborg. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.

Born on April 20, 1928 in Frankfurt Germany,Hannelore “Ann” Hildegard Matri was the daughter of Karl and Anna (Findeisen) Matri. She grew up in Germany where she graduated from high school. She worked in the American PX in Frankfurt where she met Jack Jenkins who was enlisted in the United States Army. They were married on April 3, 1956 in Frankfurt, Germany. Following her husband’s discharge the couple moved to Missouri and to Glidden in 1975. Ann worked for several restaurants and later cared for several elderly Carroll County residents. She belonged to the Carroll First Assembly of God Church. Ann enjoyed taking care of her cats, reading, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ann is survived by three daughters: Linda Jenkins and Allen Willenborg of Dedham, Lisa Jenkins of Carroll, and Heidi Jenkins of Glidden; a son Jeff Jenkins of Glidden; a sister Wally Matri of Germany; five grandchildren: Kelly Kramer and his wife Bev of Carroll, Jeremy Kramer and his fiancé Jaime Evenhuse of Carroll, Nicholas Schultes and his special friend Abby Brincks of Willey, and Jackie and Jamie Willenborg of Dedham; four great grandchildren: Kailey, Kaleb, Linkin, and Nora; four sisters-in-law: Sue Fisher and her husband Everett, Sissy Stephens and her husband Bob, Karen Rogers, and Yvetta Jenkins all of Kansas City, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Renate and Margie, a brother Rainer and a brother-in-law Bill Jenkins.
