Both the Jefferson-Scranton and East Greene school districts are off to a great start to the new school year. After being in school just short of one month students and staff are settling into a nice routine. We are appreciative of the cooler weather. The rooms located on the south side of the high school are not air conditioned so the extremely hot weather was somewhat of a challenge.
We have several new staff members ranging from cooks and bus drivers to teachers, secretaries, and administrators. Some of the new staff are completely new to their position while some have a significant amount of experience. All of the new staff have fit in well with our existing staff members and have brought a lot of good ideas and energy to the school districts.
In addition to getting off to a good start academically, the Greene County athletic teams are well into their fall sports seasons. I would encourage everyone to catch the Rams in action in football, volleyball, or cross country in the coming weeks.
