West Des Moines, IA (September 12, 2013) – Hubbell Realty Company is in the final preparation stages for Cabins for Campers 24/7, the “extreme” build event where two 7,500+ square foot cabins will be built at Easter Seals Iowa’s Camp Sunnyside in just one week. To kick off the event, a march to the build site led by Hubbell Realty Company President and CEO Rick Tollakson and Easter Seals Iowa President and CEO Sherri Nielsen is planned for 9:00 am with an opening ceremony to follow.
Hubbell Realty Company and Easter Seals employees, trade partners, volunteers, the Ruby Van Meter School cheerleaders and Pony Express Riders will march to the build site alongside Easter Seals clients. The march will end near the build site where the Easter Seals clients will help Tollakson count down to the build. Upon completing the countdown, hundreds of trade partners will enter the site and begin framing the cabins. Guest speakers at the opening ceremony include State Representatives John Landon and Kevin Koester.
“We are so excited for Monday,” said Nielsen. “Hubbell has been working hard to plan this event for over a year, and I can’t believe the day is actually here. This is truly the greatest gift we’ve ever received, and we cannot even begin to express how thankful we are.” Tollakson stated that his team is fired up. “This is our third ‘extreme’ build” he said, “but this build will have the biggest impact in terms of how many people it will touch.” Camp Sunnyside is used year-round between Summer and Respite camps, serving over 600 campers each year.
