Timothy S. Flattery, 38, of Waukee died of an unexpected illness on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Mercy West Lakes Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 13 at St. Mary of Nazareth Catholic Church. Cremation will follow the services.
Timmy was born in Des Moines on April 9, 1975 to Tim and Marcia (Lose) Flattery. He graduated from Dowling High School and went on to become a licensed electrician working for McIntire Electric in Urbandale. Timmy was an athlete and an avid sports fan. He played ice hockey from age 6 through high school. He cheered for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Timmy will be remembered as an intelligent man who loved life and used his dry sense of humor to make others laugh.
Timmy made his home in Waukee with Nancy Leo and Nancy’s daughter, Tori Rothman. He is also survived by his mother, Marcia Flattery; father, Tim Flattery; brother, Ryan (Tricia) Flattery; grandmother, Barbara Lose; three nephews, whom he adored, Gavin, Zachary and Carter Flattery; and his faithful pug dog, Max. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis Lose and Paul and Bernice Flattery; and niece, Hope Flattery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 12 at Iles Dunn’s Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Online condolences are welcome at www.IlesCares.com.
