DES MOINES, September 10, 2013 – Starting September 16, the GREAT DAY morning show on KCWI-TV Channel 23 in Des Moines is expanding an extra hour from 6-9am to 6-10am.
GREAT DAY features anchors Lou Sipolt, Jackie Schmillen and Meteorologist Jason Parkin. GREAT DAY’s program content is a unique combination of local news, weather, traffic and entertainment including live music, comedians, zoo animals, celebrities and much more.
“We’re expanding GREAT DAY to four hours because of audience demand,” says Ted Stephens, KCWI-TV Vice President and General Manager. “We listen to our viewers and they’re telling us they want more coverage – in particular local coverage – at a time that’s convenient to them.”
This expansion makes GREAT DAY Central Iowa’s only local TV station keeping viewers informed and safe with local news, weather and traffic coverage weekdays between 7am and 10am.
GREAT DAY’s expansion until 10am on September 16 also means KCWI-TV will now be delivering local news 20 hours a week.
