Football and festivals! With fall arriving soon, it brings on football games, cool weather, bonfires and fall festivals. Please mark your calendars now to attend the Norwalk Area Chamber of Commerce fall event on Friday, Nov. 15. More details will come in the October issue of Norwalk Living magazine, but we would like to encourage everyone to make plans now to attend because $2 from every ticket we sell will go to the Norwalk Student Education Foundation!
The Norwalk Farmers Market will be winding down soon, so don’t miss your chance of picking up some garden vegetables, honey, trees and other items every Friday night from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Dollar General Store Parking lot through the end of September into the first two weeks in October.
In October the Norwalk Chamber, along with Hubbell Realty and the city of Norwalk, will conduct a groundbreaking event in the Legacy development area. Hubbell will be breaking ground for Cedarbrooke Phase 2 and Legacy Landing apartments.
Also in October, Norwalk will be the Warren County host for the Simon Estes Roots and Wings concert. Select choir students from Norwalk, Indianola, Carlisle, Martensdale and Southeast Warren schools will be performing also at the Norwalk High School Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Oct. 20. Tickets will first be available from choir students and then possibly opened to the public after Sept. 30. More details will be coming soon, but mark your calendar and plan on attending this special event.
St. John the Apostle Catholic Church will have its annual fall festival event Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12. Contact the church office at 981-4855 for more details.
The Norwalk Chamber will be hosting its membership luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 17. Secretary of State Matt Schultz will be our guest speaker, so it should be very interesting.
Labor Day weekend has come and gone, and before you know it, Christmas will be around the corner. I would like to remind our Norwalk residents to always remember to Shop Local! Shop Norwalk!
