Jean Tuhn
Funeral Services for Eleanor “Jean” Tuhn, 83 of Jefferson will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson. Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:00 am Tuesday at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
Jean, as she was known, grew up in Greene County, Iowa and was a lifelong resident of Greene County. Jean attended school in Paton.
On May 18, 1947, Jean was united in marriage to Robert Tuhn in Jefferson, Iowa. They were the proud parents of five children: Barb, Rob, Roger, Vicki, and Jeff. Together, they made their home in Jefferson. Jean worked for 25 years for Frigidaire before retiring in 1992.
Jean enjoyed her family, camping, and making cinnamon rolls and homemade noodles. She especially enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her sister, Pat.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, and five sisters. She is survived by her children: Barb (Bob) Saffell of Jefferson, IA, Rob (LuAnn) Tuhn of Perry, IA, Roger (Karol Johnson) Tuhn of Bloomington, MN, Vicki (Paul) Ogren of Jefferson, IA, and Jeff Tuhn of Fort Dodge, IA; her brother Jim (Jodie) Mooney of Clarksville, TN; sisters-in-law: Betty Buswell of Jefferson, IA, and Marilyn (Harvey) Ganoe of Jefferson, IA; brothers-in-law: Larry McCollom of Waterloo, IA, and Ray Jenkins of Georgia; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
