DES MOINES, IA – SEPTEMBER 30, 3013 – This Labor Day weekend, central Iowans have a chance to take part in an event that was once a favorite, but has been missing for the past several years. Tifereth Israel Synagogue’s Arts and Heirlooms Sale returns this weekend at 801 73rd Street, Windsor Heights (at the former Designing Women furniture store building). The hours of the sale are Sunday, September 1st from 10 AM – 4PM and Monday, September 2nd from 10 AM – 4PM.
The six years since this event has last taken place has turned up a massive selection historic and contemporary sale items, which were donated by synagogue and community members to raise money for Tifereth. “We’ve filled an entire furniture store with artwork, collectables, furniture, antiques, household items and more,” said event chair, Will Rogers. “In addition to valuable antique items, we have great vintage and retro finds at affordable price points. Whether you’re a collector or just looking for some new funky things, you’ll find it this weekend.” A selection of items can be previewed on the Tifereth Facebook event page, found at www.facebook.com/tiferethdesmoines.
“This is a great chance for people to come out and find one of a kind items and meet members of the Jewish community” said synagogue member Tanya Keith, who is hoping to find some new furniture pieces for her historic home, and affordable artwork for the walls. “I saw some table linens and jewelry I might have to check out too. It looked like something for everyone.”
