Willona Goers, the Director at Johnston Public Library, will be retiring in October. During her tenure as Director, Willona has helped to facilitate many exciting changes at the library. Willona oversaw the addition of electronic material to the library collection, including eBooks, audiobooks, downloadable music and magazines, she was director when the one millionth person walked through the library doors, she worked with the Friends group to establish the annual “Art in the Barn” event, she facilitated Johnston Public Library’s website redesign and began the process for transitioning to a new integrated library system. Willona has been a steadfast and diligent director and advocate for the Johnston Public Library community and the community of Johnston at large. Please join us in thanking Willona for her eight years of leadership at an open house in her honor on Thursday, October 3rd from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at the Johnston Public Library.
