Barbara Dunlop, 90, passed away in Des Moines, WA on August 26, 2013. Known as “Bobby”, SERVICES will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Jefferson cemetery. Family will be there after 2:00 p.m. She was born in Jefferson, Iowa on January 6, 1923. Iowa was her home state until she moved to Kent, WA in the mid-1940’s where she loved teaching in a public elementary school. She returned home each summer to be with her parents, Roger and Hazel Dunlop, and visit her brother Charles and sister Georgia and their families. In her retirement years she remained in Kent, where she enjoyed trips to the ocean and other traveling adventures with friends, played Bingo, and she was active in her church with various Bible Studies and helping in the nursery. Despite the distance from Iowa, she was present there for most holidays and many important family events. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Charles. Surviving are her sister, Georgia Hays, two nieces, three nephews and their families. Giving thanks for her life with us, the family will be gathering for a graveside service in Jefferson, IA on Tuesday, September 3.
