Janet Amelia (Musser) Linn, age 77, of Boone, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames after a bout with cancer.
Following her wishes, her body has been cremated. A graveside service, burial, and church reception will be held in September.
Janet was born on February 25, 1936, in Joliet, Illinois, to Robert and Mary (Canfield) Musser.
She graduated from Boone High School in 1954 and from Des Moines Area Community College.
In June of 1955, Janet wed Marlin Linn of Pilot Mound.
In addition to being a wife and mother, she worked for Bourns in Ames for 25 years in the quality control department and then worked for 10 years for the Boone County Iowa State Extension Office and Boone County Fair Board.
She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and Elder.
Janet enjoyed people, movies, Iowa Public Television, and crossword puzzles.
She was a vivacious, lighthearted soul with an easy laugh. Her wisdom, quick wit, and sense of humor will be missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marlin, and two brothers, John and Chuck Musser.
Survivors include her two children, Scott of Los Angeles, California, and Carol of Longmont, Colorado; two brothers, Robert (Barbara) of Alexandria, Virginia, and brother Dick (Diane) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three sister-in-laws Karen Musser of Boone; Barb Musser of St. Louis, Missouri, and Beverly Sturtz of Boone; and several nieces and nephews.
