Lyle Davis, 72, died unexpectedly late on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. There will be a Celebration of Lyle’s life from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Iles Funeral Homes Grandview Park Chapel.
Lyle was a retired handyman and short-haul truck driver for King Delivery Service. In his younger years he was a salesman for Gary Lilly Volkswagen and Dave Ostrum Imports. He liked Johnny Cash and watching Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies. Lyle enjoyed endlessly browsing the aisles of Home Depot and driving from one Wal-Mart to the next looking for Hot Wheels for his collection.
He is survived by two daughters: Angela Davis-Allen of Des Moines, Melinda Campopiano (Arpad) von Klimo of Washington DC; grandchildren: Amanda (Dustin) Petersen, James (Morgan) Lumley, Ene’ von Klimo; great grandchildren: Zeben and Arden Lumley; sister, Bonnie (Mark) Olson of Elgin, IL. All of whom will miss the Old Cowboy now that he has ridden off into the sunset.
