It is hard to believe that summer is coming to an end.
Back-to-school activities are in full swing as we wind down August. Time really seems to be flying by. August gave us the chance to experience an outstanding community event with Altoona Palooza. What a great way to share time with your Altoona neighbors and businesses. I hope you had the opportunity to join in on some of the fun.
As we look forward to September and October, the days will grow shorter and a little bit cooler. That does not mean that your Chamber of Commerce is slowing down. Please check the website to see all the Chamber activities.
With school back in session, that brings the chance to cheer on our Southeast Polk Rams. Make sure to mark your calendar for the homecoming parade on Sept. 19.
Mark your calendar for one of our premier events that takes place on Oct. 17, that being “The Taste of Altoona.” This has become one of the most popular events of the year. Make sure to get your tickets early so you don’t miss this outstanding event.
Our Business Safe Trick or Treat evening is Oct. 24. This is an outstanding event that provides the chance for our children to have a bunch of fun and, at the same time, lets the businesses in our community show off their offices and staff.
There are many other opportunities for you to join in our community events. They can be found on the Chamber’s website, altoonachamber.org. I hope you and your family have had a wonderful summer, and we look forward to seeing you in the future at one of the many Chamber events.
