Join the Friends

Posted August 21, 2013 in Community Featured, Pleasant Hill

The Friends of the Pleasant Hill Library will soon undertake their annual membership drive.

Residents have always been generous in providing financial assistance to the Friends. The Friends have purchased books on CDs, DVDs, paid for a popcorn machine and bought computers and other equipment for the library.

But your active participation is also needed for this great organization to continue.

Please consider attending Friends meetings and becoming an active member. Meetings are held on a quarterly basis. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. at the library.

For more information, stop in or call the library at 266-7815.

Special programs
Join UnityPoint at Home on Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. for an information session regarding hospice care, palliative care and IPOST — Iowa Physician Order for Scope of Treatment. A representative will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

On Sept. 19, the library will host a class on Social Security filing at 6:30 p.m. Intended for those who are married, widowed or divorced between the ages of 55 and 68, the class offers strategies to maximize retirement benefits. Preregistration is required. To secure a place, call the library at 266-7815.

Holiday closing
The library will be closed on Sunday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 2. Have a great Labor Day holiday.
