March 7, 1926 – August 20, 2013
Edward Pasutti, 87 of Des Moines passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Wesley Acres Health Center. Born in Des Moines to Libro and Roma Pasutti, Ed served his country in the United States Army before returning to his hometown to start a family and build a successful tile and marble business with his brothers. Examples of Pasutti Brothers fine tile, terrazzo and marble craftsmanship can still be found across Iowa at Grinnell College, St. Anthony’s Church, Noah’s Ark Restaurant and the Downtown Des Moines Marriott hotel.
Ed was a life long conservationist and accomplished angler and hunter. His many friends and family warmly recall stories of Ed’s ornery and, at times, erasable behavior at fishing holes and duck blinds over the years. He was especially fond of duck hunting where his extraordinary black Labrador Retriever Sugar was a regular at his side for many seasons. In addition to his hunting and fishing interests, Ed was a master gardener who proudly shared his bounty with his extensive friends and family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 22 2013, from 5 to 7 PM at Tonini Funeral Home on SW 9th Street. A funeral mass in celebration of Ed’s life will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church beginning at 10:30 and will be followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ed’s name to St Anthony Church Foundation or Ducks Unlimited of which he was a longtime member.Information provided by: Brooks Funeral Care 7975 University Blvd. Clive, IA 50325 www.meaningfulfunerals.net
