Author Spargo to visit Sept. 10

Fans of F. Scott Fitzgerald will delight in R. Clifton Spargo’s new novel “Beautiful Fools.”

Join us at a free presentation at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 as Spargo discusses a final fictional chapter of Zelda and Scott’s epic love story. Spargo, a novelist and cultural critic, writes a blog for The Huffington Post and is currently the Provost’s Fellow in Fiction at the University of Iowa.

Pizza and Pages: Teen Book Discussion
Monday, Aug. 26, 4 p.m.
Teens in sixth through 12th grade can come and enjoy some good books and pizza during our monthly book discussion. This month, be prepared to talk about the best book you read this summer, or your all-time favorite book.

Beginnings Music for Children
Tuesday, Sept. 3, 6:30 p.m.
Join Natalie Steenson from the Beginnings Early Childhood Music Program for singing, dancing and instrument playing, and learn how music benefits the young child. This program is for children ages 1 to 6 and requires preregistration.

Furry Tales
Saturday, Sept. 7, 11 a.m.
Stop by the library to sign up for a 10-minute slot to read a favorite story to therapy dog Scout. Sharing stories with Scout is a fantastic way to practice reading skills and make a furry friend at the same time.

Afternoon Book Discussion
Monday, Sept. 9, 1 p.m.
Discuss the book “Calling Invisible Women” by Jeanne Ray. Ask at the information desk to borrow a copy of the book.

Join Lori Lindberg from the Beginnings Early Childhood Music Program for singing, dancing and instrument playing and learn how music benefits the young child. This program is for toddlers age 15 months to 3 years and requires preregistration.

Evening Book Discussion
Tuesday, Sept. 10, 6:30 p.m.
Discuss the book “The Language of Flowers” by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Copies of the book are available at the information desk. West conference room.
