Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ Chance, age 62, of Lakewood, Colorado, and formerly of Boone, died August 15, 2013, at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood.
His body was cremated and a memorial Funeral Mass will be Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone with Rev. Randy Schon officiating. Burial of his cremains will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Jeff was born in Boone on September 30, 1950, the son of Raymond and Mary ‘Ann’ (Flannery) Chance.
Graduating from Boone High School, Jeff was employed as a conductor for the Chicago Northwestern and Union Pacific railroads for 33 years before retiring.
In earlier years, Jeff enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed being with family and friends.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
He is survived by a daughter Lacey Chance and husband Bradley Staats of Denver, Colorado; two sons: Cole Chance of Chicago, Illinois, and Kayne Chance of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons Van and Leo Staats; four brothers: Steve and wife Cheri of Phoenix, Arizona, Kirby of Des Moines; Doug and wife Kathy of Ogden, and Derek and wife Lynn of Moline, Illinois; two sisters: Melodye Muchow and husband Charlie of Houston, Texas, and Kyle Sivertsen and husband Chad of Thompson Falls, Montana; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until service time.
Following the committal service, there will be lunch and fellowship at the Boone Senior Citizens Center, 1112 Story Street.
