Perry Library will hold the annual All Iowa Reads community wide book discussion at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, in the library Community Room. Everyone is invited to participate in reading and discussing the 2013 All Iowa Reads selected title The Year We Left Home by Jean Thompson. All Iowa Reads is a program of the Iowa Center for the Book, Iowa Library Services/State Library that was initiated to encourage Iowans statewide to read and talk about a single title in the same year. Its mission is to stimulate public interest in books, reading, literacy and libraries. The books are available at the library in regular, large print, and audio-book formats to check out, and paperback copies of the book are available to purchase for $5, while supply lasts. If you read one book this year, make it this one – and engage in a great conversation with your friends and neighbors at this annual community event! Guest discussion leader is English instructor, lecturer, author, and graduate of the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, George Minot, from Iowa City. For more information, call the library: 515-465-3569.
