It has stopped raining, and now it is way too warm. That can only mean one thing — the Iowa State Fair. No, it also means the Chamber Golf Outing is coming soon, and it is.
The Annual Johnston Chamber Golf Outing is scheduled for Thursday Aug. 22 at TCI in Polk City. The outing starts with lunch at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. As always, this is a great networking event for Chamber members. With the help and support of gracious sponsors, we will have a raffle and hole prizes.
Sign up your golf foursome before Aug. 10 for $85 per person. Once the deadline passes, the price increases to $95 per person up to the day of the event. Contact Heather at the Chamber office today to reserve your spot.
Tee and green sponsors are already being contacted by the golf committee. Sponsors receive recognition at the hole they sponsor and before and after the event. This year, going forward, all levels of sponsors receives their company name on a “We Support our Troops” banner that is currently up all around Johnston. We still have a couple spots left, but they are going fast. Call the Chamber office soon if your business is interested.
Non-golfing members can join in on this event by registering for the social/lunch only. Reservations are $20 per person. We encourage you to stop by for lunch and stay a little longer, even if you do not golf. You may catch one of us duff our first tee shot of the season.
Finally, thanks to the golf committee members for their time and effort organizing this event. They have put in a lot of groundwork and will be working hard that day to ensure this a fun, enjoyable outing. A big thank you to all of our sponsors who have committed already.
In closing, I want to say that the Chamber Golf Outing is not a fundraiser for the Chamber. Proceeds for this outing go directly to cover costs for the event. Any money raised will be reserved to help repair and replace banners from the wear and tear that occurs over time. We are doing this so we do not have to ask our membership for more money year after year to replace them.
