Historic Valley Junction, West Des Moines, IA (July 26, 2013) – Next Thursday, August 1, the Historic Valley Junction Farmers Market will have a Health & Safety Fair in the 300 block of Fifth Street. Join us from 4:00 – 8:00 pm for health and safety exhibits for adults and children! Some of the exhibits included will be 411 Safety Shop’s “Kids & Hot Cars,” and the inflatable “SUPER Colon!” courtesy of David’s Fight, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting colorectal cancer, and more.
A strong tradition in Historic Valley Junction for more than 30 years, the market draws thousands of visitors over the summer from May 2 through October 3 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. The Valley Junction Farmers Market features over 100 vendors with fresh Iowa produce, baked goods, crafts, plants, floral, prepared food and more.
The Music in the Junction concert series will also continue as planned, with a performance from SP3 at 6:00 pm. The beverage garden will be open in Railroad Park from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Concerts are free and held on the Railroad Park stage, located at the corner of Railroad Avenue and 5th Street, Valley Junction, West Des Moines.
Historic Valley Junction, in West Des Moines, is six square blocks of antique and specialty shops, art galleries, fashion boutiques, hair salons, service businesses and restaurants. Many of these businesses will have extended hours during the Farmers Market and Music in the Junction concert series.
