This Chamber event features live music, featured entertainment, classic cars, a bounce house, hand-powered kiddie train rides, our retail stores stay open late, vendor street market, topped off with a movie in the park! Main Avenue activities are 6:00-9:00pm; 6:30pm Special Entertainment on the 300 block (SE corner of City Park); Clear Lake Tae Kwon Do Club; 7:00-9:00pm: Live Music on the 400 block (next to Larson’s Mercantile; Country Showdown; 9:00-10:45pm: Movie in the Park in City Park; Safe Haven (rated PG13). Back again, on Friday, July 26th, Dueling Piano dynamos, Megan Hill & Tim Mitchum grace the stages at The Landing. This was one our best events of 2012, so don’t miss it in 2013. Ghost Boat Cruise – July 26, 2013, 9:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Performers share their most frightening tales under the stars aboard Clear Lake’s own paddlewheel, The Lady of the Lake. Tickets are $15 and are available at the Clear Lake Public Library or Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. Ages under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Ghost stories are told aboard the Lady of the Lake as part of the Iowa Storytelling Festival. For more information contact the Clear Lake Public Library, 641-357-6133. Lakeside DixieFest – July 27, 2013 – July 28, 2013. http://www.dixiefest.net. This 21st Annual Dixieland Jazz Festival will be held in the country’s “finest festival venue,” Clear Lake’s City Park. The nationally recognized St. Louis Stompers along with three other professional bands will perform at free concerts on Saturday evening 6-9pm, and on Sunday from noon-8pm. On July 27th and 28th, the 21st Annual Lakeside DixieFest will include music from four different bands to include “Blue Ox Jazz Babies”, from Mankato, “St Louis Stompers” from St Louis, Indianola’s “Ballyhoo Foxtrot Orchestra”, and the host band The Raiders of the Lost Artfrom Mason City, Iowa. Saturday, July 27: 6pm: Raiders of the Lost Art
7pm: Blue Ox Jazz Babies; 8pm: St. Louis Stompers. Sunday, July 28: Dixieland Church Services; 8:30am St. Louis Stompers (United Methodist Church); 9:30am Raiders of the Lost Art (Worship in the Park, City Park); 11am: St. Louis Stompers (United Methodist Church). The Clear Lake Public Library’s Storytelling Festival offers free performances by the Midwest’s finest storytellers performing for a multigenerational audience in City Park.
