Pancake Day plans underway

Posted July 24, 2013 in Community Featured

We are pleased to announce that plans are underway for one of Iowa’s best festivals, Centerville Pancake Day.

Our theme this year — “Ready, Set, GO!” — reflects the whirlwind of activity that surrounds Pancake Day and the anticipation and excitement of the big day.   Look for the addition of some fun, family-friendly competitions during the day.

Many communities’ festivals have faded over the years, and we have been very fortunate that Pancake Day continues to draw large crowds and bring Centerville natives back to visit year after year. Maintaining a festival means we have to continually pursue quality entertainment.

We are continuing to look for quality entertainment for adults and children, and we are confident that with the support of the community this Pancake Day can live up to its reputation as a day packed with fun and activities for everyone.

Few people who understand the amount of energy and expense required to put on an event like Pancake Day. We are grateful for the past commitment to continuing this great tradition that brings thousands of people from all over the state and country to Appanoose County each year.

We would greatly appreciate your consideration of a donation to Pancake Day. As always, we will recognize all “Friends of Pancake Day” contributions in the Daily Iowegian following Pancake Day. Please make donations payable to the Centerville Chamber of Commerce and mail to 128 N. 12th St., Centerville, IA, 52544.

Please follow “Pancake Day, Centerville, Iowa” on Facebook as our plans for this year evolve.  Thank you for your past and continued support.
