Kayneta Lee Ray, age 76, of Boone and the Eastern Star Masonic Home, died July 19, 2013 at the Boone County Hospital.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall, with Pastor Kelly Gafkjen officiating. Burial will be in the Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport.

Kayneta was born on February 2, 1937 in Yell Township in Boone County the daughter of Jerry and Evelyn (Free) Wolf.

She married Leonard Ray in Boone on August 26, 1955.

Kayneta was a nurse’s aide and worked at the former Ledges Manor in Boone and later at the Eastern Star Masonic Home where she retired.

She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, knitting and crocheting, watching old westerns on television, visiting casinos, and traveling with her sister Judy.

Kayneta especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers John and Ron Wolf, and a sister Elaine Wolf.

Kayneta is survived by three daughters, Terrie McKinney and husband John and Karen Miller and husband Bryon all of Boone, and Vicki Speed and husband John of Sheldahl; a brother David Wolf of Pilot Mound; two sisters Judy Tingwald of Woodward and Margaret Peel and husband Don of Perry.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Korisa Struben and husband Erick, Shannon Preze and husband Angel, Ian McKinney and wife Emily, Jim and Jason Miller, Amy Price and husband Travis, Cody Ross and wife Kayla, and Chad Ross and wife Sara; and 11 great grandchildren: Kadin, Nathan, and Preston Miller, Taylor Ball, Ayden and Gentry Price, Alex, Macinzee, Jordyn, Dylan, and Scylur Ross, with baby Price #12 on the way.

Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Monday from 3 until 8 p.m. where the family will be present from 6 until 8 p.m.

Visitation continues Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
