Hal Knolmayer, 67, passed from this life on Thursday, July 18, 2013. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 22, at Iles Funeral Homes, Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid. Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the prayer service.
Hal was born on May 28, 1946 in Doernbirn, Austria to Edmund and Anna Knolmayer. He was a 1966 graduate of Woodward-Granger High School, where he shined as a football player. Hal was employed as a detail painter with Massey Ferguson in Des Moines, until they closed. He then worked in construction. May he rest in peace.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Tom) Bell of Solon, IA; her mother, Glory Knolmayer of Granger; three sisters, Annie Moran of Woodward, Rosie (Mike) Thompson of Polk City and Margaret Naylor of Hamilton, MO; brother, Ed (Steph) Knolmayer of River Falls, WI; two grandchildren, Haley and Jace; and a host of extended family members including aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Hal was preceded in death by his parents.
