Dorlene V. Boldt, 95, died Wednesday, October 29, 1917 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, followed by an 11 a.m memorial service all at Grace United Methodist Church. Urn burial will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Masonic Cemetery.

Dorlene Victoria Anderson was born in Norway, IA on October 29, 1917 to Alfred E. and Lena (Johnson) Anderson. She spent her childhood in Wapello County and graduated from Ottumwa High School. She attended AIB in Des Moines before beginning work at Flynn Dairy in 1935.

Dorlene married Willis A. Oldt on September 6, 1941 in Munterville Lutheran Church, Munterville, IA. After World War II Dorlene and Willis raised four children in Des Moines. She later returned to work at Meredith Corporation where she stayed until her retirement in 1987. She and Willis then moved to Indianola to spend their retirement years.

Those left to cherish Dorlene’s memory include her four children, Kenneth Oldt of West Des Moines, Delores (Steve ) Smith of Morrison, IL, Ronald (Charlene) Oldt of West Des Moines; and Nancy (Mike) Stansberry of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Chris Oldt of West Des Moines, Joseph Oldt of Savannah, GA, Jennifer (Justin) Stevenson of Kankakee, IL and Kimberly Smith of Morrison, IL: sister-in-law, Bea Anderson of St. Joseph, MO; two nieces, Thea (Gordon) Ide of St. Joseph, MO and Kristin (Robert) Schewe of Chicago, IL; and one great niece, Whitney Ide of St. Joseph, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Arlo Anderson; and one sister (in infancy), Wuanita.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or the Des Moines Salvation Army.
