Daniel J. Harlan, 49, of Urbandale passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013, with his family by his side. A Celebration of Daniel’s Life will be held at a gathering from 5 to 8 p.m., on Saturday, July 13, at Lions Park Gazebo, located at 72nd Street and Aurora Avenue in Urbandale. Casual dress. A private committal service will take place at a later date.
Dan was born on October 5, 1963 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Rodney and Mary Harlan. He grew up in Slater, IA.
Dan leaves behind his son, Taylor Harlan; mother, Mary Harlan; brother, Kirk (Mary) Harlan; and girlfriend, Sue Pottinger. He is also survived by two daughters, Chelsey and Candace Simmer; and two half-brothers, Rory and Russ Harlan.
