Norwalk Easter Public Library kicked off this year’s summer reading program on June 3, and since then we have had more than 1,026 babies, kids and teens register to participate. We have 280 adults participating this summer as well.
Registration for our Fancy Nancy parties hit an all-time record of more than 75 girls signed up and attending the two parties the week of June 24. The Teddy Bear Sleepover is off to a great start with more than 50 teddy bears signed up, and we still have a couple of weeks left for them to continue to sign-up.
Summer Read registration will last through Friday July 15 for anyone who has not had a chance to stop in. Additionally, we still have many more programs for everyone to participate in including:
Teddy Bear Sleepover @ the Library
Friday, July 19, 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, July 20, 9:30 a.m.
Everyone is invited to bring his or her teddy bear or another stuffed friend to our Teddy Bear Sleepover. We will enjoy stories, a craft and tuck our stuffed friend into bed for a sleepover at the library on Friday night. Everyone will then be asked to pick up their stuffed friend the following morning at 9:30 a.m. where we will share doughnuts, juice and see a slide show of what our stuffed friends were up to all night in the library.
Zombie Comedy Film Festival
(For ages 18 and older)
rescheduled: Thursday, Aug. 8, 7 p.m.; Friday, Aug. 9, 7 p.m. and Saturday Aug. 10, 7 p.m.
If you like comedies and zombies, you will love our Zombie Comedy Film Festival. We will be watching different comedies on three nights and will have door prizes each time. We are excited to present this new program for the adult summer read program. Only adults 18 and older will be allowed to attend.
