Summer fun at Franklin Library

Bring your phone, tablet, camera or any digital-photo-taking device, and meet us in the large meeting room at 4 p.m. Monday, July 16. for further instruction for a photo scavenger hunt. You will be sent in and around the library to earn a stamp under the “Tech Savvy” badge on your Summer Reading Challenge task sheet, and the chance at a prize. Please preregister.

Egyptology
Tuesday, July 16, 2 p.m.
Dig into the past and have fun learning about the ancient Egyptians. This program requires preregistration and is designed for 3- to 8-year-olds.

Creatures of the Deep
Wednesday, July 17, 4 p.m.
You never know what might be lurking under the surface of the ocean. Find out about the fascinating animals that live in the ocean and do a fishy craft. This program requires preregistration and is for children in third through fifth grade.

Free Advice for Your Device
Saturday, July 20, 2 p.m.
Bring your mobile device (smartphone, tablet or e-reader) to get advice and help installing the library’s apps for e-books, downloadable audiobooks and e-magazines. The class and apps are all free. Your gadget must have basic setup done (out of the box, set up, passwords entered, charged and know the basics) as a prerequisite to this class. You will need your library card and PIN, and you may need the password for your App Store on your device. Pre-register.

End of Summer Reading Carnival
Tuesday, July 23,  p.m.
Celebrate the end of summer reading with a carnival. There will be games, prizes, activities, and lots of fun all throughout the library.

Afternoon Book Discussion
Monday, Aug. 5, 1 p.m.
Discuss the book “Call the Midwife” by Jennifer Worth. Ask at the Information Desk to borrow a copy of the book.

Evening Book Discussion
Tuesday, Aug. 13, 6:30 p.m.
Discuss the book “A Reliable Wife: by Robert Goolrick. Copies of the book are available at the Information Desk.

Preschool Story Time

Develop your imagination with stories, rhymes and songs.

Baby Rhyme Time
Tuesdays, 10:15 a.m.
Ages 0-18 months
Occurs weekly for babies and their caregivers, featuring rhymes, songs and bounces followed by a period of free play.

Toddler Story Time
Wednesdays 10:15, 10:50 a.m.
Come share stories, fingerplays and songs.
