Norwalk youth excel at State Youth Hershey Track Meet

003The State Youth Hershey Track Meet was held on Saturday, June 15 at the Marshalltown High School Track.  Twenty-six state qualifiers respresented Norwalk at the event.  A big thank you to the parents for transporting your child to the event.

Participants qualified through the local Norwalk meets held at the end of the school year.  Those meets were held, in conjunction, by Norwalk Parks and Rec staff and the Norwalk School District P.E. instructors; Charity Campbell and Clint Driftmier.  Many thanks to the meet workers who volunteered their time!

The state meet results are listed below: 

0499-10 year old girls:

Torin Lackman:  3rd place, Long Jump – 22nd place, 200 meters

9-10 year old boys:

Nick Marker:  10th place, Softball Throw – 26th place, 50 meters

Carter Bunch:  12th place, Long Jump

Brody Lucas:  14th place, 100 meters

Tyler Isley:  25th place, 400 meters

Haidyn Havick, Carter Bunch, Tyler Isley, and Noah Reznik:  9th place, 4×100 meter relay


04311-12 year old girls:

Tarynn Rodman:  State Champion, 100 meters and 200 meters

Briley Sodergren:  2nd place, Softball Throw

Ellie Wermerskirchen: 2nd place, 800 meters

Emily Kehoe:  26th place, 400 meters

Abbie Davitt, Allie Kreider, Tevka Lackman, Tarynn Rodman:  6th place, 4×100 meter relay

11-12 year old boys:

Jason Brooner, Bowen Born, Ben Clark, Scott Anderson:  State Champions, 4×100 meter relay Scott Anderson:  3rd place, 400 meters

Jaden Eppers:  17th place, 800 meters

13-14 year old girls:

Abby Bunch:  17th place, Long Jump – 24th place, 200 meters

13-14 year old boys:

Drew Hall:  6th place, Softball Throw

Tate Krichau:  9th place, 800 meters

Brayden Clark:  10th place, 1600 meters

Andrew Castaneda, Carson Raper, Ethan Verwers, Tate Krichau:  4th place, 4×100 meter relay
