When my husband and I had the chance to do a Wednesday date night, we decided to high tail it to Fire Creek restaurant. We had been hoping to try it for some time and were excited to see what they had in store.
When we walked in, I was impressed. The lighting was dim and inviting with just enough of a romantic vibe. There was light music playing, and a sign informed us that there would be live music in the bar later in the night.
We were seated at a cozy booth just inside and next to the fireplace. It was perfect for the two of us and felt comfortable and a bit secluded. We chatted and enjoyed the environment as we looked over the large, eclectic menu.
The menu was full of delicious-sounding appetizers, seafood, steak and specials. After just a glance, I knew I would order the filet mignon with a side of mashed potatoes and a salad. I was also eager to try the garlic Parmesan dressing, which is the house specialty.
Since it was date night we decided to take a look at the wine menu. We chose the Belle Gloss Pinot Noir. We also requested some of the complimentary warm bread for the table.
The warm rolls and butter were served quickly and were a great start to our dinner. The wine was deep and fruity with a fragrant aroma.
Our salads came were light and hearty at the same time. The house dressing added a little kick to the crunchy greens. Our meals arrived on hot and heavy plates, steaming and inviting.
I took a bite of my mashed potatoes; they were buttery, full of texture and went perfectly with my juicy steak. My meat was cooked just the way I like it.
