Take Me Back Festival. May 31, 2013, 6:30 PM – 11:00 PM. Take Me Back Festival kicks off Friday night with the Johnny Holm Band. Surf Ballroom (update 5/29/13, this event has been moved from PM Park due to the weather conditions). 6:30-11pm Contact PM Park .$10 admission. A portion of the admission goes to the Children’s Miracle Network, Make a Wish Foundation, and JDRF.

Tim Mahoney at The Landing.  June 1, 2013, 7:30 PM – 10:30 PM  http://www.facebook.com/southshoreinn/events. Join us at The Landing as we bring Minneapolis based singer/songwriter Tim Mahoney to Clear Lake for the first time. In 2011, Mahoney appeared on NBC’s hit reality show The Voice. Mahoney was chosen by Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine as one of his 8-team members after hearing Mahoney’s stunning rendition of Sam Cooke’s “Bring it On Home to Me.” And while Mahoney was eliminated from the competition on the episode that aired in May 2011, the iTunes single of his duet with Casey Weston of “Leather and Lace” reached at high as #32 on the iTunes singles chart. http://youtu.be/uM8aPuTgdLE . Vintage Car Day.  June 2, 2013. Visit Kinney Pioneer Museum on Facebook. The North Iowa Vintage Automobile Club will display vintage autos on the front lawn of Kinney Pioneer Museum. Some of the members will be on hand to answer questions. Special music, crafts and demonstrations will be held throughout the day. Brats, hot dogs, salad and beans will be available outside at noon. Experience life on the Iowa frontier through the vintage exhibits and living history at the museum. Museum consists of a main brick building, an old one room school house, a log cabin, a blacksmith shop, a local town’s wooden jail, a metal building for display of agricultural equipment, a storage building and workshop, along with several outdoor items on display. Kinney Pioneer Museum. Located at the entrance of the Mason City Municipal Airport. Sunday, June 2nd, Museum is open noon-5pm. Kinney Pioneer Museum 641-423-1258.Museum admission $3 adults, $1 for children. (does not include picnic meal).

Sit & Knit Open Studio, that same day, beginning at 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM http://www.clartscenter.com. Open Studios are free to Clear Lake Arts Center members. No registration necessary, just show up and bring your stuff!  Knitting instruction available from 1-2pm, $10. Learn to knit or get help with problems. Come as needed, all ages welcome. Sign up!
