Ron Kievits, 54, of Ankeny passed away May 20, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A visitation will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday May 24, 2013 at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.), with a prayer service and celebration of his life, starting at 3:00 p.m.
Ron was born in New London, Connecticut September 21, 1958. He graduated from High School in Griswold, Connecticut.

He was a lead and rhythm guitar player for various local bands in the New England area before moving to Ankeny, Iowa in 1998.

In Ankeny, he met the love of his life, LaVonne Hennessey.

Music was Ron’s passion, but he also enjoyed fishing, Nascar, grilling, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter “fuss-fuss”.

Ron is survived by his wife, LaVonne, his daughters, Cassandra (Michael Nelson) and Heaven; his son Conor, a granddaughter, Nevaeh, his parents, Louis and Florence, 3 brothers, Tony, Mike, and Chris, and 2 sisters, Debbie and Linda.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Steven.

Ron’s family will be directing memorials to a care fund that has been established for his granddaughter, Nevaeh.
