Sara Snedigar

Sara (Sally) Kathryn Fuller Snedigar died peacefully on May 19, 2013 at Mill-Pond Retirement Home in Ankeny, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Ankeny Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Ankeny Baptist Church with Reverend David Strope officiating. She was born to Glenn and Hazel Fuller February 26, 1929 in Ottumwa, Iowa. Sally graduated high school in Ottumwa, married her sweetheart James Robert (Bob) Snedigar in Ottumwa, and saw the first of her four children, Connie and Bob, born there. Later the family moved west to Powell, Wyoming and then Billings, Montana. Following the untimely death of her husband in October, 1972, Sally spent a year in Fortaleza, Brazil with Baptist Mid-missions. She then returned with her younger two children, Carol and David, to Iowa where she attended Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny. Sally was employed by the college for many years, serving in various positions including Registrar and Dean of Women. Sally was best known for her humor, her deep faith, her integrity, and her love of ice cream. In her later years she was diagnosed with Atypical Parkinson’s disease which slowly robbed her of her independence and her ability to serve others. She maintained a positive and uncomplaining spirit, trusting her life to her Savior Jesus, just as she always had. Sally is survived by her sister Anne Cubley of Grandview, Missouri; her brother Sam Fuller of Tucson, Arizona; her children Connie Kay Mackenzie (husband Jay, deceased) of Meridian, Idaho; James Robert (Bob) Snedigar Jr. (wife Sherri) of Glennallen, Alaska; Carol Marie Albertson (husband Kevin) of Wadena, Minnesota; David Allen Snedigar (wife Stacey) of Mitchellville, Iowa. There are 11 living grandchildren: Heidi Mackenzie, Meridian, Idaho; Jason Mackenzie (Debbie), Meridian, Idaho; Seth Snedigar (Amy), Fairbanks, Alaska; Jared Albertson, Des Moines, Iowa; Nathan Albertson, Wadena, Minnesota; Jacob Snedigar, Billings, Montana; Sarai Carter (Josh), Anchorage, Alaska; Talitha Snedigar, Anchorage, Alaska; Echo, Ethan and Eli Snedigar of Mitchellville, Iowa. One granddaughter, Emily Snedigar, died shortly after birth. Five great-grandchildren are living: Sarah Mackenzie (Jason and Debby); Isaac, Caleb and Rachel Snedigar (Seth and Amy); Ellie Katherine Carter (Sarai and Josh). Sally also leaves behind many, many friends. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Billings, Montana with a graveside service on June 2, 2013. Memorials may be sent to Faith Baptist Bible College.
