Dennis Stuckey, age 67, of 128 Story Street, pased away May 9, 2013, at his home.
A Funeral Mass will be Monday, May 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Burial will be in the Linwood Park Cemetery.
Dennis was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on January 29, 1946, the son of Gustav and Kathleen (Murray) Stuckey.
He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Boone in 1965.
Dennis married Rosemary Myers on June 15, 1968, in Boone.
He served with the Iowa National Guard from 1964 to 1971.
For 40 years, Dennis was employed with Iowa Electric Light & Power and Alliant Energy.
He worked in a tri-county area as a lineman, then a foreman, and finally overhead operations manager.
He retired in May of 2005.
Dennis was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and local safety representative, and was a member of Boone Elks Club, formerly in Boone.
He was very active in Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. He was coordinator for Babe Ruth for 11 years.
Dennis enjoyed exercising, wood working, yardwork, and especially spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws Kenneth and Iva Belle Myers.
He is survived by his wife Rosemary of Boone; two sons Todd Stuckey and wife Jodie of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Scott Stuckey and wife Kristi of Evansville, Indiana; two brothers Dave Stuckey and wife Portia of Mesquite, Nevada, and Duane Stuckey and wife Barb of Eagle Grove; a brother-in-law Tim Myers and wife Jamie of Boone; and five grandchildren: Allison and Lily Stuckey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Kerris, Sawyer, and Ella Stuckey of Evansville, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews including Josh Myers of Winterset and Iva Neppl and husband Jared of Ankeny.
Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Sunday from 2 until 8 p.m. where a Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Visitation continues Monday morning at the funeral chapel from 8 to 10 a.m.
