Odis Landsverk
Odis H. Landsverk, 83, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minnesota.
A Celebration of Odis’ life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Ankeny Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oralabor Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Odis Harlan Landsverk was born April 30, 1929 in Hayward, MN to Orval and Sena (Anderson) Landsverk. He grew up in Chickasaw County Iowa, attended the Detroit Lutheran School for the Deaf where he met Dorothy, and later graduated from East High in Waterloo in 1948. On January 23, 1954 Odis was united in marriage to Dorothy K. Meyer. The couple made their home in Ankeny where Odis worked as a sign painter. Odis enjoyed wood working, antiques, and his many friends.
Survivors include his children, Ivan (Bonnie) Landsverk of Ankeny and Sally Nickerson of Burnsville, MN; grandchildren, Chloe Landsverk and Michael Nickerson; sister, Helen (Romane) Krueger of Waverly, IA; brothers-in-law, Herbert Meyer of Burlington, KS and Louis (Betty) Meyer of LeRoy, KS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 2011; and his parents.
