The Community Guide is coming! The Community Guide is coming!
I am very excited to tell you all that the 2013 Community Guide will be hitting your mailboxes shortly. This year’s Community Guide is packed full of information about the Pleasant Hill Chamber, including businesses and activities that will be at your disposal. Cathy and the gang have really outdone themselves this year. I encourage you to use this directory in your efforts to shop locally. By shopping locally, you will be helping support your Pleasant Hill businesses and your local economy. A strong economy is important to any community.
Now that the weather is getting nicer, it’s time to start doing things outside again. I happen to know that the Community Guide has a list of the great activities that we are planning for Pleasant Hill the summer in it. We have a great opportunities for social networking, as well as family-friendly events planned. We are very happy to announce that Chill on the Hill will be back for its fifth year. Chill on the Hill will take place every Friday in June at Copper Creek Lake Park. We have a great lineup of bands on tap and have worked hard to get a large variety of music to entertain everyone. The Chamber is also happy to announce the return of our annual golf outing July 14 at Toad Valley Golf Course. If you have been to one of these in the past, you know how much of a good time it is. If you haven’t, this is a great opportunity to get signed up. Lastly, I am personally looking forward to our first movie night July 27. We will have activities leading up to a showing of “A Bug’s Life,” followed by fireworks. With the help of our members, the city of Pleasant Hill, and many sponsors, we are trying to make this a free event for the community.
I urge everyone to get out and take advantage of the wonderful opportunities in Pleasant Hill. The Chamber of Commerce is not here only for the businesses, it is here for the citizens. We do events like Chill on the Hill and our family movie night so neighbors can get out and meet one another. Pleasant Hill is a wonderful community with many great people and businesses. I am looking forward to being out and meeting many of you this summer. So keep checking your mailboxes for our Community Guide and get ready for a great summer.
I wish everyone good health and prosperity in 2013. Now Grow. Play. Live.
