
The Jefferson-Scranton and Greene County School Boards will both be meeting this week on Wednesday, April 10th. The Jefferson-Scranton School Board will be having a public hearing for the 2013-2014 budget beginning at 5:15 PM in the board room located at the South Grade. The Board will also be approving the Master Contract that has been negotiated with the Jefferson-Scranton Teachers Association. Following the meeting, the Board will hold a work session which will focus on Social Studies instruction across the district.
At 6:30 PM the Greene County School Board will meet. The key items on the agenda include a discussion about a possible Voted Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) and discussion of the development of a long range plan for the Greene County Schools. Patrons of the new school district would need to vote in order to allow a Voted PPEL to go into place. Funds from PPEL can be used to maintain buildings and purchase vehicles. The Greene County Board will also be having a discussion about long range plans for the new school district.
