Edward Eugene Post, age 70, of rural Boone, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home, he built in 1985.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1516 22nd Street in Boone.

Burial will be in the Mineral Ridge Cemetery, west of Ridgeport, with Military Honors at the graveside by the Boone Veterans Council.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 24, at the church from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present to greet friends at the church from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service.

Edward was born on March 17, 1943 in Iowa City, Iowa, the first child of Wilbur Daniel and Velma Lenor (Hulbert) Post. He attended Boone County Schools.

From 1960 to 1964, Edward served in U.S. Navy with the rank of MM2. He was employed/self employed in Automotive Repair.

Edward married Lorraine Annabelle Tilley on September 21, 1964 in Boone.

Edward was a member of the ATV Club, Northridge River Riders of Boone. He enjoyed his “toys” the most. He also enjoyed woodworking, making furniture, cabinets and various other inventions.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bernice Miller.

Edward is survived by his wife, Lorraine Post of rural Boone; his daughter, Monica Wilkening (Jeffrey) of Boone; his daughter, Natalie Hoaglin (Darrell) of Salem, Iowa; his 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; his 3 sisters, Virginia Post of Arcadia, Florida; Sandra Peterson (John) of Illinois; Nola Fagen of Loveland, Colorado; his 1 brother, Marlan Post (Robin) of Dolph, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In memory of Edward, memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
