Governor Branstad to Present Keep Iowa Beautiful Award Winners

Keep Iowa Beautiful has announced the 2013 annual award winners for enhancing the beauty, cleanliness and attractiveness of the state of Iowa.  The three award categories are corporate, organization and community.  The recipients will be presented their awards by Governor Terry Branstad at the State Capitol on Wednesday, March 27 at 2:30PM.  The Governor will also be proclaiming April as Keep Iowa Beautiful month with a ceremonial proclamation signing.

“The KIB award program is designed to recognize special people and organizations that have gone the extra mile to make our communities more attractive places to live, work and raise a family,” said Gerry Schnepf, Executive Director of Keep Iowa Beautiful.

The awards are going to:

  *  Corporate Award of Excellence-

     The Anderson-Erickson Dairy Company for their business leadership in maintaining the

     attractiveness and beauty of their corporate headquarters and support for statewide and

     community enhancement.

  *  Organization Award of Excellence-

     The Pocahontas County Economic Development Commission for leadership in establishing the

     pioneering effort of community and countywide economic and cultural vitality through the

     Hometown Pride program.

  *  Community Award of Excellence-

     The City of Guttenberg.  To the community volunteers and city officials for the outstanding

     beautification efforts of the community and the Mississippi River riverfront.
