Barnyard Readers (for ages 3-5) – Living History Farms

Posted February 20, 2013 in Community Web Exclusives, Urbandale, Web Exclusives, West Des Moines

Do you know a 3, 4, or 5-year-old that loves stories about farm animals and living on a farm? If so, this 90-minute reading-based, activity-filled program will be perfect for them!

Begin by reading a book or two about the day’s featured animal after you arrive at the Living History Farms’ Visitor Center. Then, board a tractor-drawn cart for a ride to the animal’s home at one of the farms. Meet and interact with the animal of the day, and see that animal’s friends. After participating in an activity, hop back on the tractor-drawn cart for a ride back to the Visitor Center.
