The Board of Education at its recent meeting approved the purchase of iPads for all members of the teaching staff. The decision sets in motion the process of moving the district forward in the implementation of a 1 – 1 learning device for students.
Devices will be distributed to staff over the next several weeks. Our initial day of training for staff is scheduled for February 25th. Following a keynote session, staff members from Webster City and Northeast Hamilton will have a series of breakout sessions from which to choose. Some staff members from Kendall Young Library will participate in the sessions, as well.
The final details of the plan for the rollout of student devices are currently being developed. Our goal is to have devices in the hands of students during the 2013-2014 school year. As funding sources and budgets are finalized, a more specific time table will be developed. We are excited by the opportunities made possible through this initiative and thank members of the Technology Committee for their contributions to the development of the transition toward blending learning environments in the Webster City District.
