Priscilla Jordan, age 83, of 1314 South Linn Street, passed away January 22, 2013, at the Boone County Hospital.

Funeral services are Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Renner Cemetery, southwest of Boxholm.

Priscilla was born on March 25, 1929, in Pilot Mound, the daughter of Jesse and Lillian (Shafer) Ott.

She graduated from Boxholm High School in 1947 and then attended Commercial Extension School in Omaha, Nebraska, where she met her future husband Dean Jordan of Ralston.

The couple was married on December 18, 1948, in Boxholm and they farmed southeast of Boxholm and raised their children.

She served as a 4-H leader for nine years, chairman of the Farm Bureau Ladies, and active in her church circles at Boxholm United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church in Boone.

Priscilla worked for many years as a sales clerk at the former J.C. Penny Company and Ross’ Clothing Store in Boone and later at Holly’s in Boone.

In 2006, they retired from farming and moved to Boone.

During retirement, she was a member of the Boone County Hospital Auxiliary.

Priscilla loved being with her family and friends and found great joy in entertaining guests in her home.

Her passion was cooking and baking and she was the happiest in her kitchen.

She also enjoyed playing cards, camping, tending to lovely houseplants, especially her orchids, and cross stitching.

Priscilla is preceded in death by her parents, a brother LeRoy ‘Bud’ Ott, and a son-in-law Steve Schroeder.

She is survived by her husband Dean of Boone; a son Kenneth Jordan and wife Becky of Collins; two daughters, Pam Schroeder of Boone and Lacy Johnson and husband Brian of Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren: Jesse Jordan and wife Marla of Waukee, Scott Jordan and wife Michelle of Urbandale, Kimberly Kramer and husband Brent of Pensacola, Florida, Nicholas Schroeder and wife Ericka of Cresco, Andrew Schroeder and wife Amanda of Boone, Benjamin Schroeder and fiancée Brittany Linczer of Boone, and Jordan Johnson of Harcourt; four great-grandchildren: Annika Jordan, Colton and Dylan Schroeder, and Phoebe Kramer; a sister Dottie Butts and husband Bob of West Des Moines; a sister-in-law Mary J. Ott of Boxholm; and many cousins and friends.

Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Visitation continues Saturday at the Church from 9 a.m. to service time.

In memory of Priscilla, memorials may be directed to the Boone Municipal Band or the First United Methodist Church.
