Celebrate the completion of the new Faith Hall at Immanuel United Methodist Church with a luncheon on Jan. 27.

The parishioners at Immanuel United Methodist Church know about love.

The church will be continuing its “Love Lessons” sermon series this month. The fourth installment will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m., and this sermon’s theme will be “All things are possible.” Pastor Gary will lead the sermon offering ways to incorporate love into every aspect of life and into relationships. He encourages anyone interested to check it out, and if you like what you hear, come back for two more sermons to round out the series.

On Feb. 3 the theme will be “Learning to love beyond boundaries,” and the Feb. 10 sermons will be “Learning to love without limits — God’s eternal love for you.”

Also on Jan. 27, following the 10 a.m. service, the church will be having a free luncheon in celebration of paying off the loan for the construction of Faith Hall, a project that started with the Forward by Faith campaign back in 2002.

For more details on any of these events, visit the church’s website at www.immanueldsm.org, or stop by at 2900 49th St.

Speaking of love, what better way to show it than to give the gift of life? Giving back is good for the soul. Even if you have nothing to give, you can always donate blood. Holy Trinity Catholic Church and School will have a blood drive on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 8 a.m. to noon in the gym. Swing by, and save three lives one pint at a time at 2926 Beaver Ave. Check out the church website at www.htschool.org to learn other ways you can help.

Grace Lutheran Church has other opportunities for you to give back as well. If you’re 16 and older you can apply to be on the staff at Lutheran Lakeside Camp for nine weeks this summer. If you’ve been to camp as a child you know how much fun it is, and how crucial the staff is in making it all happen. It’s also a great way to stay active in faith or worship over the summer. Anyone interested should contact Jonathan Fry at fryjad@uni.com or 515-669-4665. For all other happenings at Grace Lutheran visit 3010 52nd St., or browse the website at www.gracedm.org.
