Pizza and Pages: Teen Book Discussion
Monday, Jan. 28, 4 p.m.
Teens in grades eight through 12 are invited to join us for pizza and a discussion of the book “Being” by Kevin Brooks. Copies of the book will be available at the information desk.

Ten Things to Know About Breast Cancer and How to Avoid It
Tuesday, Jan. 29, 6:30 p.m.
Drake University Professor Emeritus Patricia Prijatel will share information from and answer questions about her recently published book, “Surviving Triple-Negative Breast Cancer: Hope, Treatment, and Recovery.” Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing after the program.

BeTween the Lines: Tween Book Discussion
Wednesday, Jan. 30, 4 p.m.
We’ll have snacks and a craft to go along with the book’s theme. This month we will discuss “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon” by Grace Lin. Books are available to sign out at the information desk. Parents are invited to read the book and join in the discussion.

Furry Tales
Saturday, Feb. 2, 11 a.m.
Sign up for a 10-minute reading time, and share stories with one of our visiting therapy dogs.

Afternoon Book Discussion
Monday, Feb. 4, 1 p.m.
Discuss the book “The Invisible Wall” by Harry Bernstein. A copy of the book may be obtained at the Information Desk.

VolunTEENS
Monday, Feb. 4, 4 p.m.
Teens are invited to volunteer their time to help out at the library. Teen volunteers must fill out an application, signed by a parent or guardian and must be contacted by library staff that they are accepted to participate in this new volunteer group. This first event will be primarily an orientation. Snacks provided.
