Geneva “Ginny” May Cota passed away on January 18, 2013 at Deerfield Skilled Nursing Care in Urbandale, Iowa. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Iles Funeral Homes – Westover Chapel. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.

Ginny was born in St. Louis, Missouri on March 28, 1926. Ginny and her husband Daniel raised 6 children in the Des Moines area. Ginny and her husband retired to Arizona Golf Resort in Mesa, Arizona in 1980. As husband and wife, they extensively traveled the six continents of the world. Ginny loved football, horseracing, poker, gambling, and golf. Her hobbies included cooking, needlepoint, gardening and sewing. She was devoted to family life and loved adventure.

Ginny is survived by son, Tom Cota (Jo Anne) of Phelps, Wisconsin; daughters, Peggy Cota of Gilbert, Arizona, Sandy Sparks (Rick) of Norwalk, Iowa, Cindy Clark (Stan) of Ankeny, Iowa and Candy Danielson (Dan) of Urbandale, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel in 2008, her son Ken (Julie) and grandson Randy.

Ginny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
