Pearl Viola Larson, age 79, of 125 East Street, died December 28, 2012, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Her body has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be Friday, January 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall. Rev. Jerry Bertelson will officiate. Burial of her cremains will be at a later date.

Pearl was born in Boone on June 27, 1933, the daughter of Robert and Angeline (Stumbo) Williams.

She married Kenneth Tilley in Boone in 1953. He died in 1971.

Pearl married Roger ‘Badge’ Larson in July of 1979 in Nashua, Iowa.

In earlier years, Pearl worked as a waitress in Stratford and Boxholm. She then worked at CDS and was a seasonal worker at DeKalb.

Pearl enjoyed crocheting and received many County Fair and Iowa State Fair ribbons.

She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking for family get-togethers, and visiting and socializing with family and friends.

Pearl was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed old game shows on television.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, an infant son Britt Kane, and two brothers John and Donny Williams.

Pearl is survived by a son Kent Tilley of Stratford; three daughters: Diana Kelley and husband Steve and Cindy Rouse and husband Ron, all of Stratford, and Valerie Carlson and fiancé Randy Davies of Crossville, Tennessee; three brothers: George Williams and wife Janet of Clayton, Wisconsin, LaVerne Williams and wife Sondra of Boone and LeRoy Williams and wife Karen of Stratford; two sisters Mabel Smith and husband Butch of Ankeny and Ida Patten of Boone; three grandchildren: Bryan Kelley of New York City, New York, Matthew Kelley of Stratford, and Meggie Kelley of Des Moines; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time.

In memory of Pearl, memorials may be directed to the family.
