Ice Skating Rink Volunteers Needed

Posted December 27, 2012 in Community Blogs

The Webster City Recreation & Public Grounds Department and volunteers are hoping to open the Carl Rhoer Ice Skating Rink at Nokomis Park (North Des Moines Street) within the next few days.  Once the skating rink is open, the tentative hours will be on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  There is no cost to use both the rink and to borrow ice skates that are available in the shelter.

During the week (Monday through Friday evenings) the hours will be announced depending on the number of persons who volunteer to supervise the skating rink/shelter.  During the week, the goal is to have enough volunteers to be open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Please contact me at 832-9193 if you are interested in volunteering your time.

With weather conditions changing on a daily basis, please call Fuller Hall at 832-9193 to make sure the skating rink is open.  A special thank you to Jim Mitchell for volunteering to make the ice the past several days.  Have a great week.
